James MacQueen was born and raised in North Somerset and has lived here his whole life including Long Ashton, Nailsea and now Yatton.
Having worked in politics for over six years, James has a wealth of experience running community and political campaigns. He has taken part in the “Save Our Access” campaign which forced North Somerset Council to stop their closure of vital country lanes which connect North Somerset’s towns and villages. He also helped to run the “Save Our High Street” campaign in Yatton, which forced the Council to give local people a say in how the roads in the village were developed.
Through his work in politics, James has a deep understanding of how both local and national government operates, which will help equip him to represent local people effectively.
James is passionate about providing opportunities for people with Specific Learning Difficulties due to his battles with dyslexia. He will use his passion to ensure everyone locally can get a fair deal.
